The other day I went with my family to Minca, which is a place nearby Santa Marta full of nature and many beautiful things in the mountain. We decided to have lunch in this italian restaurant outdoors near a river. I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful view I had and dress comfortably but in such a classy way.

El otro dia fui con mi familia a Minca, que es un sitio cerca a Santa Marta que es un gran sitio turístico en el país con río, montaña y muchas atracciones naturales. Decidimos almorzar en este restaurante Italiano que tiene acceso al río y tiene un muy buen ambiente familiar. Aproveche este hermoso lugar y me vestí cómodamente pero con estilo.

I chose for my clothing this day a warm tone dress which I had for a very long time but did not wear it at all and decided to combined it with my new Panama hat, which gave me a very sophisticated look and also combined well with the place we were in.

De ropa escogí este vestido de tonos cálidos que tengo desde hace mucho tiempo pero no lo usaba en lo absoluto y lo combine con este Sombrero Panamá, el cual le dio al look un toque más sofisticado y además iba perfectamente con el lugar donde estaba.

This bag gave a twist to the look, it gave a classy and vintage vibe and it’s so special because it has been in my family for many years and it was a great match to this look. It combine fabulously with the tones of my dress and making me look even cuter. For shoes I decided to keep it simple with some white sandals that kept the look casual and comfortable.

El bolso fue la pieza clave de la pinta, le dio un toque clásico y vintage e hizo mi pinta aun más especial ya que lleva generaciones en mi familia.  Combino perfectamente con los tonos de mi vestido  y además hizo mi look aun mas lindo. Con respecto a los zapatos, decidi mantenerlo simple y usar una sandalias blancas que no solo mantuvieron el look casual pero cómodo.

It felt like a day to wear heels but I was going to be walking a lot so this were the perfect match. They are cute, comfortable and a color that goes with a lot. So to go with the look I wore a military basic shirt, which is longer than usual and pair it up with basic baby blue jeans that I folded in ankle. To make a nice contrast I decided to put my red valentino bag that made a great combination with the green shirt.

Hoy tenía ganas de ponerme tacones pero necesitaba unos que fueran cómodos porque iba a estar caminando todo el día. Los que escogí fueron perfectos porque son lindos, cómodos y son de color piel, el cual va se puede combinar con muchas cosas. Para el look escogí una camisa básica color verde militar y unos jeans  básicos color azul claro. Para hacer un contraste lindo con el verde decidí ponerme un bolso rojo cruzado Valentino.

For accessories I decided to put several silver rings and a pair of brown sunglasses that went with the tones of the outfit and gave a nice sophisticated touch to the look.

Para los accesorios decidí ponerme varios anillos de color plata combinados y unas gafas de tonos marrones que iban perfecto con todos los tonos de la pinta y además le daba a la pinta un look sofisticado.

Hi fashion babes,

This summer I went to a Summer studio in Miami International University of Art and Design. I was in a fashion program during four days and it was awesome. This also helped me out to clarify my thoughts about what I want to study and get to know more about the career. This university offers Fashion design, Fashion Marketing and Accessory design, so the fashion program I was in had a little bit of everything.

Este verano fui a un taller o un «Summer Studio» en  Miami International University of Art and Design. Estuve en el programa de moda durante cuatro días y fue estupendo. Este programa además de ser super interesante me ayudo a aclarar dudas sobre la carrera que quiero estudiar cuando me gradué. Esta universidad ofrece tres carreras de moda además de las otras carreras que tiene sobre otros temas. Las tres carreras son; diseño de moda, mercadeo de la moda y diseño de accesorios, entonces en el programa pudimos experimentar un poco de las tres cosas.

 

Day 1

The first day we got to know two fashion design teachers and hear about their experiences. They also showed us videos about the latest trends and we talked about them because it had something to do with another activity. We had a guest speaker, which is a graduate of the university of fashion design. His name is Luis Aponte and he talked about how he’s doing in the industry and showed us some of his designs.

Dia 1

El primer día conocimos dos profesores de diseño de moda de la universidad y nos contaron todo sobre sus experiencias  durante su vida. Por otro lado también nos mostraron videos sobre las últimas tendencias de moda ya que tenía que ver con otra actividad. Después de eso tuvimos a un invitado que nos contó sobre cómo le estaba yendo en este proceso del diseño y la industria. El se llama Luis Aponte y es un recién graduado de la universidad en la que estábamos.

 

The next activity had to do with the trend of denim and they gave of a bag full of fabrics and pieces of denim. We had to create a design to do the next day. So they took us to a room to design and helped us start drawing or sketching our looks until we draw them, cut them and make them look ready for a kind of like Portfolio.

La siguiente actividad tenía que ver con la tendencia del denim o el jean. Nos dieron una bolsa llena de telas y pedazos de jean para crear nuestro propio diseño y que estuviera listo para el día siguiente. Entonces nos llevaron al salón de diseño y nos ayudaron a empezar el diseño que queríamos crear, lo pintamos lo recortamos y lo pusimos en cartulina para tenerlo como un tipo de portafolio.

 

Day2

The time to make our designs was here, I was so excited and I had a positive attitude and obviously nervous but really happy. I was creating a jacket with pieces of other fabrics but it ended up to be a dress and I liked it alot (It was my first time creating a dress or any design). We didn’t have time to sowed so we just pinned them to the maniqui.

Día 2

Y llegó la hora de diseñar. Estaba super emocionada y con una actitud positiva, obviamente un poco nerviosa pero super feliz. Yo tenía en mente crear una chaqueta con pedazos de las otras telas pero terminó siendo un vestido y me encantó como quedó (era mi primera vez diseñando algo). No teníamos tiempo de coser entonces simplemente lo pusimos con pins en el maniquí.

Day 3

This was my favorite day because it was fashion marketing and that is what I’m interested in, so I was out of my mind. The teacher talked about his experience as stylist and other jobs and also told us about the fashion marketing program and I was extremely happy. I found what I liked and I didn’t dissimulated my happiness. In the morning we took a portfolio picture with a professional photographer of our designs and in the afternoon by groups we got to dress up a model and style the look and the photographer took pictures. Día 3

Este fue mi día favorita porque era sobre Mercadeo de la moda y es en lo que más estoy interesada entonces me volví loca de la emoción. El profesor nos habló sobre sus experiencias como estilista y en los otros campos que trabajó. Nos contó sobre el programa de mercadeo de la moda de la universidad y no podía de la alegría, no podía ni disimular la energía y la emoción. En la primera parte del día nos dedicamos a tomarle una foto de portafolio a nuestro diseño con un fotógrafo profesional y ya en la tarde nos dividimos en grupos y teníamos que vestir al modelo para una sesión de fotos. Day 4

Today we had to design some shoes or bags, so the teacher first talked about how we could start to draw them and explained. It was very hard to draw shoes but I tried and had fun. At the end we colored it and they gave us our diplomas for the Summer Studio.

Día 4

El plan de ese día era diseñar accesorios y más específicamente zapatos. La profesora nos empezó a mostrar como dibujar y realmente es muy difícil diseñar zapatos. A pesar de esto lo intente con todo y me divertí. Al final lo coloreamos y nos dieron nuestros diplomas por hacer parte del Summer Studio (Taller).

I was in Miami for a Summer Studio at Miami International University of Art and desing. and after the program one afternoon they took us to the wynwood walls. This is the warehouse district of miami and it’s now full of graffiti and paintings to make it more fun and it ha become an art district. Today i’m going to show you the outfit I had for that entire day and you also get a glimpse at the walls.

Estuve en Miami en un «Summer Studio» en la universidad «Miami International University of Art and design» y después del programa en la tarde nos llevaron a unas paredes llamadas «Wynwood Walls» donde hay grafitis y pinturas en las paredes y se ha vuelto un distrito del arte. Aquí podrán ver la pinta de hoy y también un poco las paredes de Wynwood

Very ripped on the knee jeans, with a light colored were the start of my outfit. I combined it with a very fresh black top that is of a knit material but has very small detail. Behind the top I had a black bra that has some detail on the top that stand out from the shirt and are so on trend right now.

Unos jeans bastante rotos en las rodillas fueron la base de mi pinta de este día. Combiné estos con un top negro muy fresco y suelto, que es como tejido pero los detalles son muy pequeños y no se notan mucho. Debajo de este me puse un top o un brasier negro con unos detalles arriba que sobresalen de la blusa y que están muy de moda en esta temporada.

For accessories I was very simple today, I wore blue and black sunglasses. This style is  everywhere now and is very on trend, combined with this nude  Michael Kors bag, that has a pink undertone and is the perfect size, not too big and not too small.  It makes a nice contrast with the black going on in the outfit and it makes the outfit stand up more. For jewelry I wore my silver flower chain I wear everyday and a gold pink watch that is from Fossil. Finally for shoes i wore some black and white flats from Zara.

A la hora de escoger accesorios para este look, me fui por el lado simple. Me puse unas gafas azules con negro que están de moda y las hay en todas partes. Para darle un contraste al look decidí ponerme este bolso color piel que tiene como un tono rosa de Michael Kors, que tiene el tamaño perfecto porque no es ni muy grande ni muy pequeño. Lo que más me encanta es que la da un toque al look y pasa de ser un outfit simple a uno un poco más cool. De joyas o accesorios me puse una cadena de plata con una flor que tengo puesta casi todos los día y un reloj como de color oro rosado que es de Fossil. Finalmente para los zapatos me puse unos zapatos planos de Zara que tienen color blanco y negro.

Today I want to show yo guys the outfit I wore the other day, when I went to eat  and see the sunset with my grandmother, that was visiting and my mom to the Marina (Marina Santa Marta IGY), which is downtown. I wasn’t able to take pictures that day but later I took pictures at home.

Hoy les quiero mostrar una pinta o como yo le digo ‘outfit’ que me puse el otro día para salir a comer y ver el atardecer con mi abuela que estaba de visita y mi mama a la Marina Internacional de Santa Marta, que queda en el centro de la ciudad. Ese día no pude tomar fotos pero después me tomé unas en mi apartamento.

 

I was feeling dressy today, but I didn’t wanted it to be very dressy because we were going to be in a very hot place and not so elegant. I had in my mind this outfit a long time ago but I didn’t know when to wear it, but today I felt it was perfect. I had my ripped jeans, which are a bit loose sometimes, a basic black blouse and my classy, sexy, pointy, black ultimate favorite heels. but this time I wanted to try put this outfit with this new hat I bought in Barú.

Ese día tenía ganas de estar elegante y super bien vestida, pero no al mismo tiempo no quería estar muy elegante porque el sitio no lo era y además hacía mucho calor. Desde hace rato tenía esta pinta en mi mente pero no sabía cuando ponérmela, pero sentí que era perfecto para hoy. Mi jean roto, que es un poco más flojo de lo normal, una blusa negra básica de tiras y mis tacones favoritos que son unos tacones clásicos, sexy, puntiagudos y negros. Pero en este caso, quise darle un toque distinto con un sombrero que compré cuando fui a las islas de Barú.

 

Any ripped jean with a basic black top and some classy heels are on trend lately. This time I decided to pick this jeans because they are a light color and this would makes a very nice contrast with the dark top and the dark shoes. The blouse is just a must, but I put this one on because it is longer than usual and would help me to get a more structured look than a top that wasn’t that long but would get stuck in my hips making them a no for my type of body. For the jeans I decided to fold them a little bit to give the look a more cool vibe but also because it looks way more nice and structure to fold them so the ankle shows and that way the feet look nicer when you put the heels on.

Cualquier jean roto combinado con una blusa básica negra y unos tacones clásicos están de moda o son necesarios en nuestros closet en toda esta temporada. En esta ocasión decidí ponerme unos jeans claros rotos para hacer contraste con la blusa negra y los tacones negros. Esta blusa es simplemente necesaria, pero en esta ocasión escogí esta ya que es más larga de lo normal, y de esta manera no se me acumularía en las caderas coomo muchas blusas de un largo normal, que no me favorecen para mi tipo de cuerpo. Con respecto a los jeans, decidí doblarlos un poco para darle una vibra más cool y a la moda pero también porque se ve mejor y más estructurado el doblarlos para que el tobillo se vea y de esa manera de vea mejor todo el look al agregarle tacones.

For accessories I was very simple, I used a black mini Michael Kors purse to go with the other black in the look, using it without straps to give the outfit a more classy vibe. In my hands I used a delicate ring and a hat for a more tropical vibe.

Los accesorios que use fueron muy simples, primero que todo un bolso pequeño negro de Michael kors que iba a juego con todo el negro del look y sin tiras para darle un toque más clásico al look. De anillos use uno pequeño muy delicado y un sombrero color crema que le da al look una vibra más tropical.

The hat/ El Sombrero

When I wore this look to dinner with my family I wore the outfit with the hat and the hair down as this last pictures, but the day I took the pictures my hair wasn’t helping much, so I decided to try it with my hair up and Love it!! So here I give you to different ways to used this outfit. With the hair up for a sophisticated look and for a restaurant where is needed to dress up more than the normal and the one with the hat works for both, the one where you need to dress up a little more and for a more tropical vibe restaurant or place or island you are in.

Here I choose the hat because I was going to the Marina and to eat near the beach and mI wanted that vibe for my look.

Cuando use este look para ir a cenar, me puse el sombrero y el pelo suelto como en las últimas fotos, pero el día que tomaba las fotos para este blog mi pelo andaba en sus días alocados y decidí agarrarlo. ¡Me encantó! Entonces aquí les dejo dos distintas maneras como se podría usar este look. Con el pelo arriba para un look más sofisticado y para un restaurante donde se necesita estar un poco más elegante de lo normal y por otro lado el sombrero sirve para las dos ocasiones. Para cuando necesites ir a un lugar un poco más elegante de lo normal y para cuando vayas a un lugar un poco más tropical o incluso si estás en una isla tropical.

En este caso yo escogí el sombrero ya que iba a la Marina, donde hay un restaurante frente a la playa y además le quería dar ese look a mi pinta.
